Get Married In Aruba

Every year hundreds of couples make Aruba their Wedding Destination. The beautiful isle of Aruba gives you the option to wed on the beautiful beach or in the lush tropical gardens. Whatever option you choose your pictures will tell the  beautiful story of your union in an uforgetable tropical isle.

Marriage Requirements:

  • Proof that both parties are single and eligible to get married.
  • Birth Certificate with a raised seal.
  • Divorce decree where necessary.
  • Death certificate if Widowed.
  • Valid Passports.
  • Passport for witnesses.
  • Copies of the outlined documents must be faxed for review and Fedexed a minimum of one month before the wedding.
  • Civil ceremonies must take place before church ceremonies and are performed Wednesday to Friday between the hours of 9:00am-12:00 noon at the City Hall in Oranjestad.

Requirements for Catholic Union:

  • Proof that both parties have completed pre-marriage counseling.
  • Permission from their priest for the Aruba union and an official declaration that neither party were previously married in a church.
  • Wedding Certificate as proof of marriage in  home country.
  • Baptismal and Confirmation certificates of both parties.
  • Copies of passports or I.D. Cards.
  • Documents must be submitted a minimum of  four months prior to chosen wedding date.

Protestant/Episcopalian/Methodist Requirements:

  • Wedding Ceremony can be officiated in either if these church buildings or at any chosen location.
  • Copy of marriage certificate from  home country if married outside Aruba.

Jewish Requirements:

  • Both partners MUST bet Jewish and must submit proof of  Judaism from their local Rabbi.
  • A formal petition needs to be submitted to the Aruba Jewish Community.
  • The actual wedding ceremony may take place either in the synagogue or any other venue of choice.

Note: A boat captain is not authorized to officiate a wedding according to Dutch laws. This applies for international waters as well as in port unless he has been issued this authority.
