- The application for the marriage license must be submitted to the registrar. Both parties must be present in the Bahamas 24 hours before the application is submitted.
- The fee for a marriage license is $120 (includes one certified copy of marriage certificate).
- Parental consent is required if either party is under 18 years.
- In case of a previous divorce, a certified (certified documents must bear a raised seal) or original final decree must be produced.
- A death certificate of the deceased spouse must be presented if either party is widowed.
- A declaration certifying to the unmarried status must be sworn to before a Notary Public or other person authorized to administer oaths in the country of residence. This can also be completed by an attorney or Notary Public in the Bahamas.
- Evidence of the date of arrival in the Bahamas must be presented.
- Valid photo IDs are required.
